Mixed Media/Altered Art Collage

Enter artist Terri Ventura's world of collage art. Dig into that junk drawer, the one you keep all those things you can't bring yourself to throw away and bring them in. Using something as simple as a vintage cigar box, Terri will show you how to mix them into a piece of art worthy of hanging in a place of honor.

We will be using Tinsel’s wonderful assortment of great ribbon, scrap paper, trim and embellishments, to help create your art piece.

The Wonderful World of Altered Books

Join Terri Ventura in an adventure of altering a book into a work of art. Bring in an old book, copies of photos, and any mementos you'd like to use. We will work with ephemera of all kind, wonderful trims, ribbons, glitter, and flowers from our store. All will be used to embellish your new keepsake. We'll be using paint, inks and all sorts of other messy stuff, so dress appropriately

Trunk Show

On September 19th, Tinsel Trading will welcome Petrushka, a designer specializing in jewelry and accessories since 1965. Petrushka has been encorporating tinsel thread and trim into her work ever since she discovered Tinsel Trading in the 1970s! Her pieces have been sold widely, and she will be instore from 12-7, creating new pieces and presenting her fall collection. Come join her!

Charlotte Lyons was featured in Mary Engelbreit's Home Companion magazine in the June/July 2006 issue. She is well known for her handmade art, designs and crafts. We are delighted that she has offered to give a special class here at Tinsel Trading. We will be making mini-scrapbooks, similar to the ones featured in the article, using our ribbons, flowers and trims. To insure extra attention to class members, attendance will be limited. Register early to reserve your place!

	Glitter 101 - "Glitter-ween" workshop Laurie Davis (www.glitterworksstudio.com), better known as “The Glitter Fairy”, will be flying in to NYC for this Glitter-ween Workshop. She will teach some of her glittering tricks-of-the-trade. You will transform a simple papier-mache box into a wonderful “Trinket-or Treat” Box, complete with a mini baby boo pumpkin and a big black crow standing guard on top!
